I am a trained Primary Teacher, recently I have worked as a Principal Teacher in Early Years. I am currently working as an Associate Tutor at University of Edinburgh on their Postgraduate Teacher Training courses. I have also worked as Learning Support Teacher. My passions lies in literacy or early maths. I recently presented at the Scottish Mathematical Society Conference.
I am dedicated to helping children learn through their interests, so for example to explore creative writing we might make up stories based on their favourite games or characters. I often use technology to make learning more accessible for example exploring animation, or podcasting. I also focus on what the student wishes to learn and how they feel about learning.
If you are looking for a private tutor for your child to explore literacy – reading, listening, writing, spelling or feel they may have missed the fundamental building blocks in their early maths education then please get in touch.
I offer face-face lessons in Lauder and surrounding area and online session further afield. Please email me on elisabethkelly22@outlook.com

Testimonials
“Liffy ( Elisabeth) worked brilliantly with my son, really taking the time to get to know him & his learning style. She used her knowledge go his interests to make the sessions as engaging as possible which all helped him to quickly feel relaxed in her sessions. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others” Parent Summer 2022
“Elisabeth ( Liffy) worked with my two children through the summer, very quickly she identified how best to connect with them individually and tailored the work in a way they each found fun while taking into consideration their different areas of difficulty. Elisabeth managed to get my children engaged and excited about what they were doing. She clearly has a lot of experience and a great way of interacting with the children. We’ve all enjoyed our time with Elisabeth over the summer and are so grateful to be returning to school with a new level of confidence.” Sarah/Parent Summer 2022
